The present invention provides isolated polynucleotide sequences encoding .alpha.-mannosidase. The present invention further provides DNA construct comprising the polynucleotide sequence coding for .alpha.-mannosidase in sense or anti-sense orientation, RNAi construct, recombinant vector comprising the construct and host cells comprising the recombinant vector disclosed in the present invention. The present invention further provides transgenic plant, plant cell, transgenic progeny and seeds expressing the polynucleotide with reduced .alpha.-mannosidase protein accumulation, having enhanced fruit shelf life.
L'invention concerne des séquences polynucléotidiques isolées codant pour la a-mannosidase. L'invention concerne également une construction d'ADN comprenant la séquence polynucléotidique codant pour une a-mannosidase dans une orientation sens ou antisens, une construction ADNi, un vecteur recombinant comprenant la construction et des cellules hôtes comprenant le vecteur recombinant décrit dans l'invention. L'invention concerne enfin une plante transgénique, une cellule végétale, une descendance et des graines transgéniques exprimant le polynucléotide, avec accumulation de protéine d'a-mannosidase limitée, et présentant une durée de vie des fruits améliorée.
