A polyol composition is provided which when reacted with an organic isocyanate, has good flow characteristics and makes a rigid polyurethane foam having good dimensional stability at low densities. The polyol composition has a polyol component which must have present a polyoxyalkylene polyether polyol having an equivalent weight of 130 or less and a hydroxyl number of 400 or more, a polyoxyalkylene polyether polyol having an average functionality from 1.5 to 3.1 and a viscosity of less than 800 cP at 25°C, and a polyoxyalkylene polyether polyol having an average functionality of greater than 3.1 and a viscosity of 5,000 cp or less at 25°C. The polyol composition also has formic acid or a mixture of formic acid and water as blowing agents, and further contains a delayed action blow catalyst and a delayed action gel catalyst. 69
Invention d'une composition de polyol qui, lorsqu'on la fait réagir avec un isocyanate organique, révèle de bonnes caractéristiques d'écoulement et donne une mousse de polyuréthane rigide, possédant une bonne stabilité dimensionnelle pour une faible densité. La composition de polyol renferme un polyol devant contenir un polyoxyalkylène polyéther polyol possédant une masse équivalente de 130 ou moins et un nombre d'hydroxyles de 400 ou plus, un polyoxyalkylène polyéther polyol avec une fonctionnalité moyenne de 1,5 à 3,1 et une viscosité inférieure à 800 cP à 25 degrés C, enfin un polyoxyalkylène polyéther polyol avec une fonctionnalité moyenne supérieure à 3,1 et une viscosité de 5000 cP ou moins à 25 degrés C. La composition de polyol renferme également de l'acide formique ou un mélange d'acide formique et d'eau, comme gonflant; enfin, elle contient un catalyseur d'expansion et un catalyseur de gel, tous deux à action prolongée.
