There is described a polyol formulation comprising 20 to 65 wt.% of polyol of a first type having a number average molecular weight of greater than 800, a hydroxyl value of less than 200 mg KOH/g and an ethylene oxide content of less than 75 wt.% and, forming a miscible mixture therewith, 35 to 80 wt.% of polyol of a second type having a number average molecular weight of less than 1000, a hydroxyl value of greater than 300 mg KOH/g and an amine content (expressed in terms of the percentage of N) of at least 0.2 wt.%. The formulation is especially useful for preparing a semi-flexible polyurethane foam having a softening temperature of 120 ~C or more which may be used in insulating pipes.

Composition de polyol qui comporte de 20 à 65 % en poids de polyol d'un premier type ayant un poids moléculaire moyen en nombre supérieur à 800, une valeur hydroxyle inférieure à 200 mg KOH/g et une teneur en oxyde d'éthylène inférieure à 75 % en poids et, formant un mélange miscible avec ce premier polyol, de 35 à 80 % en poids de polyol d'un second type ayant un poids moléculaire moyen en nombre inférieur à 1000, une valeur hydroxyle supérieure à 300 mg KOH/g et une teneur en amine (exprimée en termes de pourcentage de N) d'au moins 0,2 % en poids. Ladite composition est particulièrement utile pour préparer une mousse de polyuréthanne semi-souple ayant une température de ramollissement de 120 ·C ou plus, qui peut être utilisée pour l'isolation de tuyaux.
