The present invention is a cable having (a) one or more electrical conductors or a core of one or more electrical conductors and (b) each conductor or core being surrounded by a layer of insulation. The insulation layer is prepared from a composition comprising a polyolefm and a 3 -dimensional, cage-structured nanoparticle. The preferred polyolefins are polyethylene polymers, and the preferred nanoparticles are polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxanes (POSS), polyhedral oligomeric silicates (POS), or polyhedral oligomeric siloxanes.

La présente invention concerne un câble avec (a) un ou plusieurs conducteurs électriques ou un cAEur fait d'un ou plusieurs conducteurs et (b) une couche d'isolation entourant chaque conducteur ou chaque cAEur. La couche d'isolation est fabriquée à partir d'une composition comprenant une polyoléfine et une nanoparticule tridimensionnelle ayant une structure en forme de cage. Les polyoléfines préférées sont les polymères polyéthylènes et les nanoparticules préférées sont les silsesquioxanes oligomériques polyhédriques (POSS), les silicates oligomériques polyhédriques (POS) ou les siloxanes oligomériques polyhédriques.
