2060888 9117296 PCTABS00008 A stretchable nonwoven polyolefin fabric is produced by heat fusing a web of a mixed fiber containing at least 30 wt. % of a highly crimpable and heat-fusible conjugate fiber of polyolefin in such a manner that the area of each heat fusion point ranges from 0.007 to 0.8 cm2 and the sum of the areas accounts for 10 to 40 % of the surface of the web and heat treating the web thus fused to crimp the conjugate fiber. The obtained fabric is soft to the touch and can be utilized as the base cloth of bandage, poultice, and other sanitary materials.
