Abstract of the Disclosure Polyols for use in making polyurethanes or polyurethane-isocyanurates of improved heat and flame resistance comprise the reaction product of one or more diols having an equivalent weight ranging from 30 to 150, with one or more polyisocyanates having an equivalent weight in the range 50 to 200, the polyols having a diol/ isocyanate weight ratio of from about 10:1 to about 1:1, and an OH/NCO equivalent ratio of from about 3:1 to about 50:1.
