The invention relates to an isolated polypeptide having NADH dependent HMF reductase activity, wherein said polypeptide shows 80 % homology to the amino acid sequence shown in SEQ ID NO:2 and which differs from SEQ ID NO:2 in that at least S117L and Y295 or S110 is substituted, a nucleotide sequence coding for said polypeptide, a vector comprising said polypeptide or nucleotide sequence, host comprising said nucleotide sequence or vector as well as the use of the polypeptide for the reduction of furan or carbonyl compounds in lignocellulosic material or in any furan or carbonyl containing material.
L'invention porte sur un polypeptide isolé qui présente une activité HMF réductase dépendante de NADH, ledit polypeptide présentant 80% d'homologie à la séquence d'acides aminés représentée dans SEQ ID NO:2 et différant de SEQ ID NO:2 par le fait qu'au moins S1 17L et Y295 ou S1 10 est substitué. L'invention porte également sur une séquence nucléotidique codant pour ledit polypeptide, sur un vecteur comportant ledit polypeptide ou ladite séquence nucléotidique, sur un hôte comportant ladite séquence nucléotidique ou ledit vecteur ainsi que sur l'utilisation du polypeptide pour la réduction de composés furane ou carbonyle dans un matériau lignocellulosique ou dans tout matériau contenant du furane ou du carbonyle.
