The invention concerns an isolated or purified polypeptide having an activity in the MTBE degradation path, and/or at least one of the catabolic intermediates of MTBE, preferably selected from the group consisting of tert-butyl alcohol (TBA), 2-methyl 1,2-propanediol (2 -M1, 2-PD), hydroxyisobutyraldehyde, hydroxyiso-butyric acid (HIBA), said polypeptide being selected from the group consisting of: a) a polypeptide comprising a sequence of amino acids selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NO:2, SEQ ID NO:4, SEQ ID NO:6, SEQ ID NO:8 or SEQ ID NO:10; b) a polypeptide comprising a sequence of amino acids having at least 70 % identity, preferably 75 %, 80 %, 90 %, 95 %, 98 % or 99 % with the sequence of amino acids of a polypeptide as defined in a); a polypeptide as defined in a) or b) whereof the sequence of amino acids comprises a substitution, deletion, insertion, addition or mutation of one or several amino acids over its entire length.
L'invention concerne un polypeptide isolé ou purifié ayant une activité dans la voie de dégradation du MTBE, et/ou l'un au moins des intermédiaires cataboliques du MTBE, préférentiellement sélectionné dans le groupe consistant en le tert-butyl alcool (TBA), le 2-méthyl 1,2-propanediol (2 -M1, 2-PD), Phydroxyisobutyraldéhyde, l'acide hydroxyiso-butyrique (HIBA), ledit polypeptide étant sélectionné dans le groupe consistant en : a) un polypeptide comprenant une séquence en acides aminés sélectionnée dans le groupe consistant en SEQ ID NO :2, SEQ ID NO :4, SEQ ID NO :6, SEQ ID NO :8 ou SEQ ID NO :10, b) un polypeptide comprenant une séquence en acides aminés qui présente au moins 70 % d'identité, préférentiellement 75 %, 80 %, 90 %, 95 %, 98 % ou 99 % d'identité avec la séquence en acides aminés d'un polypeptide tel que défini en a), un polypeptide tel que défini en a) ou b) dont la séquence en acides aminés comprend une substitution, délétion, insertion, addition ou mutation d'un ou plusieurs acides aminés sur toute sa longueur.
