The present application relates to new peptide polymers comprising monomeric units derived from the residues of glutamic acid, aspartic acid and lysine, or their protected derivatives, and which are functionalized through the introduction of side chains containing thiol groups or protected thiol groups. The new peptide polymers can be crosslinked in aqueous medium, and the resulting polymer matrices have the capacity to entrap drugs and, subsequently, release them in a controlled way when introduced into a physiological medium. This enables new pharmaceutical compositions to be developed for the controlled release of drugs, especially peptide- and protein- based ones.

La présente invention concerne de nouveaux polymères peptidiques comprenant des unités monomères dérivées de résidus d'acide glutamique, d'acide aspartique et de lysine, ou de leurs dérivés protégés. Ces polymères sont fonctionnalisés par introduction de chaînes latérales contenant des groupes thiols ou des groupes thiols protégés. Ces nouveaux polymères peuvent être réticulés dans un milieu aqueux et les matrices polymères résultantes sont capables d'encapsuler des substances médicaments et, par la suite, de les libérer de manière contrôlée lorsqu'elles sont introduites dans un milieu physiologique. Ces polymères permettent de mettre au point de nouvelles compositions pour la libération contrôlée de substances médicamenteuses, en particulier de substances à base de peptides et de protéines.
