ABSTRACT By conducting a polyphase AC in the order of phase sequence to the discharge electrodes forming a regular polygon, because electric discharges are generated as they rotate continuously at a high speed covering the region surrounded by the plurality of electrodes, a highly intensive energy accompanying various discharge phenomena such as intense heat or highly intense light can be generated very efficiently, and because these discharges occur in a virtual plane form, utilization of the highly intensive energy accompanying the discharges becomes very easy. A melt processing of powder waste can be efficiently done by utilizing virtual plane arc discharge generated by a polyphase AC multielectrode discharge apparatus, and ozone can be very efficiently generated by utilizing virtual plane corona discharge generated by a polyphase AC multielectrode discharge apparatus, and further by utilizing virtual plane discharge generated by the polyphase AC multielectrode discharge apparatus, a light source apparatus in which the whole discharge chamber lights uniformly can be provided. - 3 0 -
