ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A polyphenylene ether copolymer obtained by oxidative coupling of 60 to 99.9 mol % of a phenol with 0.1 to 40 mol % of an aniline, having improved heat resistance, shock resistance, and tensile strength and thus being useful as excellent plastics for engineering purposes mixed with other polymers such as polystyrene or ABS resins.
