ABSTRACT/SUMMARY The invention relates to new polysaccharides with immune stimulating and antiproliferating effect from plants of the family Nerium oleander. One of the polysaccharides is made up of .alpha.(1?4) bonded D-galacturonic acid units and shows a molecular weight of from 30,000 to 40,000 D. Additionally, a lower molecular polysaccharide mixture of approximately 3000 to 12000 D, having three lesser fractions of varying molecular weights and content, was isolated.
