The complexes have formula Image wherein Pc is a metal-containing or metal-free phthalocyanine residue, A is an alkylene group having 2 to 6 carbon atoms or an arylene group having 1 to 3 rings, the integers m and n satisfy both 2 < m + n ? 4 and 1 ? n ? 2, and Z is an activated polysaccharide residue.
