ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention relates to polysaccharides having an anticarcinogenic activity and to a process for producing such polysaccharides from an extract of mycelium and/or stromatoid of a strain which is capable of producing an anticarcinogenic polysaccharide and which belongs to the genus Isaria of class Hyphomycetes or from a culture medium in which said strain has been incubated. The polysaccharide of this invention exhibits neither cytotoxicity nor side effects commonly seen in connection with the use of conventional agents such as decrease in number of leucocyte, anemia of liver and other organs, atrophy of spleen, loss of body weight and loss of appetite.
