A coating composition comprising a film forming binder of a. at least one polymer that has pendant groups, such as, hydroxyl, carboxyl, glycidyl, amine, amide, silane and mixtures thereof that are reactive with a crosslinking component and the polymer has a glass transition temperature (Tg) of 10 to 80~C; b. a polytrimethylene ether diol having a Mn (number average molecular weight) of 500 to 5,000; and c. a crosslinking component, such as, organic polyisocyanates, melamine formaldehydes, alkylated melamine formaldehydes, benzoquanamine formaldehyde, urea formaldehyde, polyepoxides, silane resin and any mixtures thereof; wherein the coating composition can be used as a clear coating composition and can contain pigments and may be used as a pigmented top coating, a pigmented base coating, a primer or primer surfacer coating and is useful for coating automobile and truck bodies and parts, industrial equipment, appliances and exterior structures.
L'invention concerne une composition de revêtement qui comprend un liant filmogène constitué : a. d'au moins un polymère possédant des groupes latéraux, de type hydroxyle, carboxyle, glycidyle, amine, amide, silane et mélanges de ceux-ci qui réagissent avec un composant de réticulation, le polymère présentant une température de transition vitreuse (Tg) comprise entre 10 et 80·C; b. d'un diol d'éther de polytriméthylène présentant une Mn (masse moléculaire moyenne en nombre) comprise entre 500 et 5000; et c. d'un composant de réticulation, de type polyisocyanates organiques, mélamine formaldéhydes, mélamine formaldéhydes alkylés, benzoquanamine formaldéhyde, urée formaldéhyde, polyépoxydes, résine de silane et mélanges de ceux-ci. Cette composition de revêtement peut être utilisée en tant que composition de revêtement transparent et peut contenir des pigments; en tant que revêtement supérieur pigmenté, revêtement de base pigmenté, apprêt ou revêtement d'apprêt surfaçant; et s'avère utile pour le revêtement de pièces et de carrosseries d'automobiles et de camions, d'équipements industriels, de meubles et de structures extérieures.
