The present invention provides a process of reducing acrolein byproduct from polytrimethylene terephthalate using selected phosphorous compounds to contact the polytrimethylene terephthalate or reactants in the process of producing polytrimethylene terephthalate. The selected phosphorous compounds are retained in the polytrimethylene terephthalate. The present invention also provides polytrimethylene terephthalate compositions containing amounts of phosphorous compounds.

L'invention concerne un procédé pour réduire le taux de sous-produit acroléine dans le polytriméthylène téréphthalate, au moyen de composés phosphoreux sélectionnés, qui sont destinés à venir au contact du polytriméthylène téréphthalate, ou de réactifs, lors du processus de production de polytriméthylène téréphthalate. Les composés phosphoreux sélectionnés sont retenus dans le polytriméthylène téréphthalate. Cette invention se rapporte en outre à des compositions de polytriméthylène téréphthalate qui contiennent des quantités de composés phosphoreux.
