The invention concerns a method for preparing aqueous polyurethane suspensions comprising the following steps: (a) forming a prepolymer with NCO functions by reacting in a solvent a polyisocyanate, a polydiene with hydroxyl terminations having a mass Mn of at least 2000 and a diol containing neutralised acid functions, the NCO functions being in excess relative to the OH functions; (b) dispersing the prepolymer in water; (c) adding a diamine chain extender; (d) evaporating the solvent to obtain an aqueous polyurethane urea dispersion. The invention also concerns aqueous dispersions substantially not containing any solvent and containing 30 to 40 wt. % of solids: the coatings obtained from said dispersions are particularly hydrophobic.

L'invention concerne un procédé de préparation de dispersions aqueuses de polyuréthane comprenant les étapes suivantes: (a) formation d'un prépolymère à fonctions NCO par réaction dans un solvant d'un polyisocyanate, d'un polydiène à terminaisons hydroxyles et de masse Mn d'au moins 2000 et d'un diol contenant des fonctions acides neutralisées, les fonctions NCO étant en excès par rapport aux fonctions OH; (b) dispersion du prépolymère dans l'eau; (c) addition d'un allongeur de chaîne de type diamine; (d) évaporation du solvent pour obtenir une dispersion aqueuse de polyuréthane urée. Elle concerne aussi des dispersions aqueuses ne contenant essentiellement pas de solvant et contenant 30 à 40 % en poids de solides; les revêtements qu'on obtient à partir de ces dispersions sont particulièrement hydrophobes.
