Disclosed is a polyurethane molding compound free of migration capable by- products and with a high colour fastness as well as improved temperature stability. Such a polyurethane molding compound is obtainable by reacting: a) 1 or more aliphatic polyoles of a molecular weight of 450-6000 g/mole and a hydroxyl value of 10-235: b) with aliphatic and/or cycloaliphatic diisocyanates in an equivalency ratio of diisocyanate to polyole of 1.2:1.0 up to 16.0:1: c) dioles as chain extender compounds of a molecular weight of 60-450 g/mole whereby the NCO characteristic number, formed by multiplying by 100 the quotient multiplied by 100 of the equivalency ratio of the isocyanate groups to the sum of the hydroxyl groups of the polyole and the chain extender component, is in the range of 90-105; and d) at least a bifunctional reaction component suitable for secondary crosslinking which reacts with the terminal OH- groups of the polyurethane chain as well as the acidic hydrogen atoms of the urethane groups and leads to branching reactions, whereby the thermoplastic polyurethane formed in the first step by reaction of the components a) to c) is homogeneously mixed with 0.2-25 parts per weight of the component d) relative to 100 parts per weight of the thermoplastic polyurethane in a second step and molded into the molding compound and further crosslinked at temperatures of 80-240°C.
