Abstract Improved paper and paper products exhibiting increased wet and dry tensile strength and increased stiffness are achieved by the use of a heat curable polyurethane polymer amine salt as an additive to the pulp or by spraying a web with an aqueous solution or dispersion of the polyurethane polymer amine salt. Various types of latex polymers may also be used along with the poly- urethane polymer amine salt as paper making additives.
