A method of forming a thin-walled article comprises coating a roughened former with a first elastomer, which first elastomer substantially does not retain bubbles that may be formed; coating a high modulus polyurethane to the coated former to form the main body of the article; drying and/or curing the composite article; and stripping the composite article from the former, whereby the surface of the first elastomer has a rough surface to provide surface grip. A thin-walled article comprising a grip coating of a first elastomer on a high modulus polyurethane substrate, wherein the coating has a rough surface to provide surface grip is also comprised in the invention.
L'invention concerne un procédé pour façonner un article à parois minces. Ce procédé consiste à recouvrir une forme rugueuse avec un premier élastomère qui ne retient sensiblement pas les bulles susceptibles de se former. Il consiste également à appliquer une couche de polyuréthane à haut module sur la forme ainsi recouverte pour former le corps principal de l'article, puis à sécher et/ou durcir l'article composite et enfin à séparer ce dernier de la forme. Ainsi, la surface du premier élastomère est rugueuse ce qui constitue une couche antidérapante de surface. L'invention a aussi pour objet un article à parois minces comprenant un revêtement antidérapant d'un premier élastomère sur un substrat de polyuréthane à haut module, ce revêtement présentant ainsi une surface rugueuse qui constitue une couche antidérapante de surface.
