A polyurethane (I) of 1000 to l00000 in molecular weight, comprising plural segments, which are each structural units of A-B, A-C and A-D of the formulae: (See fig. I) (See fig. II) and (See fig. III) the molar proportion of the said segments of A-B, A-C and A-D i.e. x : y : z being 0.01 to 0.8 : 0 to 0.80 : 0 to o.99, provided that the sum of x, y and z is 1.0; wherein R1 is a skeleton of a diisocyanate, aza is a group of the formula: (See fig. IV) or (See fig. V) wherein Y1 and Y2 represent oxygen, imino (-NH-) and hydrocarbon derivatives thereof; R4 and R5 are optional substituents; R2 is a polyalkylene glycol residue; Z is oxygen or imino; R3 is alkylene or the residue of an ether or secondary or tertiary amine. The polurethanes are useful for coating medicaments for release in the large intestine.

Polyuréthane (I) de 1000 à 100 000 de masse molaire, renfermant plusieurs segments, qui sont chacun des unités structurales A-B, A-C et A-D de formules : A-B (fig. I), A-C (fig. II) et A-D (fig. III), les proportions molaires des segments A-B, A-C et A-D, c.-à-d. x:y:z s'établissant àApp# 0,01 àApp# 0,8 :App# 0 àApp# 0,80 :App# 0 àApp# 0,99, à la condition que la somme de x, y et z soit 1,0; R1 est un squelette de diisocyanate, aza est un groupe de formule (i) (fig. IV) ou (ii) (fig. V),où Y1 et Y2 représentent de l'oxygène, un imino (-NH-) ou leurs dérivés hydrocarbonés; R4 et R5 sont des substituants facultatifs; R2 est un résidu de poly(alkylèneglycol); Z est un oxygène ou un groupe imino; R3 est un alkylène ou le résidu d'un éther ou d'une amine secondaire ou tertiaire. Ces poluréthanes sont utiles pour l'enrobage de médicaments devant être libérés dans le gros intestin.
