ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Improved polyvinyl alcohol modified starch-based corrugating adhesive is provided by employing a fine particle size, low cold water solubles containing polyvinyl alcohol that is soluble in warm water, in combination with borax, alkali and water. Corrugated board with lower adhesive add- on and high line speeds can be produced by the use of the improved polyvinyl alcohol modified starch adhesive. The resulting board has decreased warpage as a result of the lower add-on.
