ABSTRACT A swimming pool sidewall and deck structure includes sidewall panels connected together along their vertical edges to form a continuous sidewall and vertical frame members spaced along the exterior of this sidewall. Steel channel members extend outwardly away from the sidewall and form X-frames, each positioned within a vertical plane. Each X-frame is connected to opposite ends of a respective vertical frame member. A concrete footing supports the bottom of each X-frame. A concrete deck extends horizontally from the upper end of the sidewall and outwardly therefrom. This deck is supported along at least the outer side thereof by the X-frames. A special reinforced concrete beam extends along and is joined to the outer side of the deck. Tension brace members connect the outer ends of each X-frame to an adjacent vertical frame.
