ABSTRACT A cDNA sequence for porcine lactoferrin (pLF) protein and corresponding amino acid sequence has been discovered. The cDNA sequence can be used to prepare recombinant pig lactoferrin products for therapeutic and nutritional appli- cations. Regions of the cDNA such as the Fe binding sites can be used to make a pLF polypeptide product.
