A process is disclosed for coating metal containers for foodstuffs and beverages. An electro-dipcoat is applied by electro-dipcoating on a ground coat which is applied by dip-painting or spray painting and is preferably pre- dried. The thus obtained coating is characterised by a reduced porosity which does not affect its specific paint weight.

L'invention concerne un procédé pour le revêtement de récipients métalliques destinés à des produits alimentaires et à des boissons, dans lequel on applique par trempage électrophorétique une couche de peinture électrophorétique sur une couche de base appliquée par immersion ou pistolage et subissant de préférence un préséchage. Le revêtement obtenu est caractérisé par une porosité réduite pour une couche de peinture d'un poids spécifique identique.
