Le matériau comprend une matrice poreuse constituée en au moins un oxyde d'élément métallique contenant de manière dispersée des particules d'oxyde d'au moins un second élément métallique et se caractérise en ce que les particules dudit second élément métallique présente une augmentation de leur dimension moyenne égale au plus à 1000% entre la dimension moyenne de ces particules après un traitement thermique à 350°C pendant 4 heures et celle des particules après un traitement thermique à 1100°C pendant 4 heures.
