Bath seats are used by the disabled or infirm because they cannot get down into, or up from a regular bathtub. Their only way to bathe at present is to use conventional tub seats which perch them above the water, never allowing a warm soak. The Porta-Tub is a vertical box insert of stiff plastic that allows the bather to soak to the waist while seated at chair height inside a bathtub. Bathers enter and leave via a doorway, providing ease, safety and independence. The Porta-Tub is filled with water using a portable shower head. Porta-Tub would be a light weight insert made entirely of strong plastic material. It would require no installation or home modification.
