An air-pressure applying assembly for a seat, having an occupant holding portion, for selectively applying a desired pressure to the body of a seat occupant. This assembly includes an air-bag assembly, an air-pressure source, an inlet-conduit assembly, an exhaust valve assembly, and a control assembly. The air-bag assembly is removably mountable to the seat occupant holding portion. The inlet-conduit assembly is in fluid communication at one end to the air-pressure source and at another to the air-bag assembly. The exhaust valve assembly is in fluid communication at one end to the inlet conduit assembly and has an air-outlet at the other end. A control assembly is linked to the air pressure source and to the exhaust valve assembly. The control assembly is so configured as to selectively signal the air-pressure source to inflate the air bag assembly so as to apply the desired pressure to the body of the seat occupant and as to selectively signal the exhaust valve assembly to release air from the air-bag assembly.
Un appareil à pression d'air pour un siège dotée d'une partie supportant l'occupant, servant à appliquer sélectivement une pression voulue au corps de l'occupant du siège. L'appareil comprend un coussin d'air, une source de pression d'air, un conduit d'admission, une valve d'échappement et une commande. Le coussin d'air est monté de manière amovible sur la partie du siège supportant l'occupant. Le conduit d'admission est en communication libre à une extrémité avec la source de pression d'air et à l'autre extrémité avec le coussin d'air. La valve d'échappement est en communication libre à une extrémité avec le conduit d'admission et à l'autre extrémité avec une sortie d'air. Une commande est raccordée à la source de pression d'air et à la valve d'échappement. La commande est configurée pour signaler sélectivement à la source de pression d'air de gonfler le coussin d'air de manière à appliquer la pression voulue au corps de l'occupant du siège et pour signaler sélectivement à la valve d'échappement de dégonfler le coussin d'air.
