ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention relates to a portable case for a sewing machine having a substantially rectangular work supporting bed, a hollow standard secured in the bed and carrying an over- hanging bracket terminating in a hollow head, a flywheel pro- vided on one side of the bracket and a grip secured at the top of the bracket. The portable case is composed of a substan- tially rectangular hollow base for receiving the work supporting bed of the sewing machine and having a bottom, front and rear walls and opposite end walls and a cover having a top wall, front and rear walls and opposite end walls. The top wall of the cover has a lateral elongated opening formed therein through which the grip of the sewing machine is disposed out of the cover when the sewing machine is placed in the portable case. One of the end walls of the cover has a circular opening formed therein through which a part of the flywheel of the sewing ma- chine protrudes out of the cover when the sewing machine is placed in the portable case.
