A communications device (14) is provided for controlling operation of an unmanned locomotive (10) over a track layout (16) in a train yard. The locomotive is operable over a plurality of alternative track routes to reach a respective destination from a plurality of possible destinations in said track layout. The track layout includes a plurality of switches (12) configured to alter a route for a locomotive running along the track layout. The communications device may include a first user display (50) for use in commanding a desired destination for the locomotive within 'the track layout by setting the state of the switches along the route to the destination. The communications device may further include a second user display (56) for use in controlling movement of the locomotive along the track layout.
L'invention concerne un dispositif de communication (14) qui sert à commander la manoeuvre d'une locomotive sans chauffeur (10) sur des voies (16), dans une gare de triage. La locomotive peut être manoeuvrée selon une pluralité d'itinéraires possibles pour atteindre la destination voulue faisant partie d'une pluralité de destinations possibles se trouvant sur lesdites voies. Ces dernières comprennent une pluralité d'aiguillages (12) configurés pour modifier l'itinéraire d'une locomotive se déplaçant le long de ces voies. Le dispositif de communication peut comprendre un premier affichage utilisateur (50) à utiliser pour demander une destination voulue pour la locomotive, se trouvant sur lesdites voies, c'est-à-dire par réglage de l'état des aiguillages le long de l'itinéraire conduisant à la destination. Le dispositif de communication peut en outre comprendre un second affichage utilisateur (56) à utiliser pour commander le déplacement de la locomotive le long des voies.
