ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention relates to portable apparatus for cooking and smoking food. The apparatus comprises a closed smoking chamber and a heating chamber which is disposed below the smoking chamber and contains heat generat- ing means. The heating chamber comprises walls on one of which is secured a narrow shelf for holding sawdust, wood chips, or the like. A plate, having holes formed therein, is disposed between the smoking chamber and heating chamber. In operation food is disposed above the plate and the heat generat- ing means cooks the food, causes the sawdust to smoulder and causes smoke to move through the holes into the smoking chamber thereby flavouring the food.
