ABSTRACT PORTABLE DATA STORE The invention concerns a portable data store with a memory unit for the storage of digital data. The data store has the shape and dimensions of a conventional cylinder-lock key. A data key of this kind can be carried on a key ring. Electrical contacts are preferably fitted on the wide face of the key web (7) as a data port. Fitted in the handle of the key is an integrated circuit, e.g. an EEPROM. The data key is preferably only 2 to 3 mm thick.
