Abstract In a portable door lock it is known to have a cursor that slides forward and backwards on a key-shaped piece of metal. This cursor is known to have a bumper of fast memory foam. The key-shaped piece has a bent tip that grabs into the strike-plate hole on the frame of the door. When the door is then shut, the cursor is pressed against the door until the foam bumper is compressed and then the cursor is dropped into one of the forward-angled teeth thus making it impossible for it to slide back. This invention is also known to hove o velcro strop with one end mode into a loop that slips around the lock in order to secure it to the door handle using only one hand. The strop is used to maintain the lock perpendicular to the door.
