2100463 9309854 PCTABS00022 A novel table type tennis game apparatus (10) comprising a base section (12) which is formed by a center plate (16) and two end plates (14, 18) assembled and held together by vertical walls (32, 34) from which a ping pong ball might ricochet during playing. Each of the flat plates (14, 16, 18) forming the base section (12) is foam molded from a thermoplastic material and includes a reinforcing lattic type rib construction and integrally molded slots which cooperate with taps on the sidewalls (32, 34) to hold the game apparatus together. A net (40) connects to and extends between the sidewalls (32, 34) and includes an elastic portion by which tension is applied to the net (40) and the sidewalls (32, 34).
