ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A gas grill includes a cart and a cooking vessel supported on the cart with the cooking vessel having a lower gas burner assembly, an intermediate sear grid assembly and an upper cooking grid. The sear grid assembly includes inverted V-shaped sear bars that cause evaporation of greases from the food on the cooking grid. The cooking vessel has a lower removable grease pit for any unvaporized grease and a separate burner unit is supported on the cart. The cart also has a fuel indicator device for supporting a portable tank. The burner assembly is constructed to be assembled without the use of any tools.
