A caulking gun has a tubular chamber (9) to surround sleeve-like rigid tubes (10) and compressible sausage type containers containing viscous materials including sealants, adhesives, caulking, mastics and the like. When rigid tubes (10) are loaded into the chamber, compressed gas is allowed to surround the sleeve and a plunger (80) loaded within the rigid tube (10) to equalize pressure around the outside of the rigid tube (10). If a sausage type container is loaded into the chamber (9), a removable plunger (80) is also provided to form a tight seal between the perimeter of the plunger and the inner surface of the chamber (9). Compressed gas introduced into the chamber (9) preferentially acts on the plunger (80) and an underlying end wall of the sausage to expel the material, without imparting any significant pressure to other parts of the sausage. The caulking gun includes a variable flow rate nozzle (20) which may be removed from the device. The nozzle (20) may be replaced with similar or different nozzle pieces of various shapes and sizes, if desired. Hand operated controls vary the flow rate through the nozzle and control introduction of compressed gas when in use. These features may be incorporated into other portable, hand held dispensing devices powered by other pressurized fluids.
L'invention concerne un pistolet de calfeutrage présentant une chambre tubulaire (9) entourant des tubes rigides de type manchon (10) et des récipients de type saucisse compressible contenant des matières visqueuses, notamment des obturateurs de joint, des adhésifs, des calfeutres, des mastics et analogues. Lorsque les tubes rigides (10) sont chargés dans la chambre, le gaz comprimé peut entourer le manchon et un piston (80) chargé dans le tube rigide (10) de manière à égaliser la pression autour de l'extérieur du tube rigide (10). Si un récipient de type saucisse est chargé dans la chambre (9), un piston amovible (80) permet de former un joint étanche entre le périmètre du piston et la surface interne de la chambre (9). Le gaz comprimé introduit dans la chambre (9) agit de préférence sur le plongeur (80) et une paroi d'extrémité sous-jacente de la saucisse permet d'évacuer la matière, sans exercer aucune pression significative sur d'autres parties de la saucisse. Le pistolet de calfeutrage comporte une buse à débit d'écoulement variable (20) que l'on peut retirer du dispositif. La buse (20) peut être remplacée par des pièces semblables aux différentes buses de tailles et de formes différentes, au besoin. Les commandes manuelles modifient le débit d'écoulement traversant la buse et l'introduction de commande de gaz comprimé. Ces caractéristiques peuvent être intégrées sur d'autres dispositifs de distribution manuels et portables mis en marche par d'autres fluides sous pression.
