ABSTRACT Our invention relates to a "PORTABLE HYDRAULIC BRICK CLEANER". The invention is a hydraulically operable tool used for the cleaning of old reclaimed bricks. A particular application of our invention is to replace the slow manual process of cleaning old bricks with just a hammer one at a time. This machine can be transported directly to the demolition site and would provide the means to a speedier clean up and possible less rubble to be sent to landfills. In operation the brick is fed into the cleaner by manually loading a conveyer which in turn pushes the bricks through to a carbide tooth roller and then to a wire brush. Both the roller and the wire brush are turning at approximately 2000 RPM thus removing any old masonry that may still be attached. The cleaned brick then falls off the end of the conveyer where it can then be piled on skids for removal. The conveyer, the roller and the wire brush are all powered by hydraulic motors which are run from a hydraulic pump powered by a gasoline engine. The device is then mounted to trailer and as the name implies is capable and agile enough to be transported from place to place as the job requires. - 3 -
