A portable apparatus (10) for removing material from the walls of a building while isolating the portion of the walls from which the material is being removed. The apparatus (10) includes a booth (20) with an open top (22), a plurality of side walls (24) and at least one open side (28) disposed between two of the side walls (24). The apparatus (10) is positioned against the wall such that an area of the wall is isolated from the environment and is disposed in the open side (28) of the booth (20) such that a worker located inside the booth (20) can access the area of the wall. A frame (50) is adjustably attached to the booth (20) so as to extend above the top of the booth (20). A vacuum filter system (70) is provided for drawing air from outside the booth (20) into the interior of the booth (20), filtering the air along with any airborne contaminants, and then exhausting clean air to the environment.

L'invention porte sur un appareil mobile (10) servant à éliminer des matériaux de murs d'un bâtiment tout en isolant la partie des murs dont les matériaux sont éliminés, qui comporte un caisson (20) ouvert à son sommet (22) et doté de plusieurs parois latérales (24) et d'au moins un côté ouvert (28) compris entre deux des parois latérales (24). Ledit appareil (10) se place contre le mur de manière à isoler de l'environnement une partie dudit mur qui se trouve alors du côté ouvert (28) du caisson (20) de manière à permettre à un ouvrier présent dans le caisson (20) d'avoir accès à ladite partie du mur. Un châssis (50) est fixé au caisson (20) de manière réglable et s'étend ainsi sur la partie supérieure du caisson (20). Un système de filtrage à dépression (70) introduit de l'air extérieur dans le caisson (20) puis le débarrasse des éventuels polluants en suspension avant de le rejeter purifié dans l'atmosphère.
