A patient care distribution and management system (1) is provided. The system (1) allows for the seamless roaming of a patient within a particular medical facility or between medical facilities. The system (1) includes body area network (BAN), management agents (4) which process data within specified parts of a defined operational remit of a medical facility; a BAN hub agent (7) associated with each patient (10) that communicates with a BAN management agent (4) and stores patient data delivered thereto by medical telemetry monitor diagnostic devices (MTMDD's) (8) connected to each patient (10). The essential feature of the system is that the BAN hub agent (7) has relatively little processing power compared to the BAN management agent (4) which feeds it with patient monitoring rules to monitor the patient condition and to enable the BAN hub agent (7) to set off alarms etc. as required.
L'invention concerne un système de gestion et d'administration de soins à un patient (1). Ce système (1) permet aux patients de se déplacer de manière indépendante dans un établissement médical donné ou entre plusieurs établissements médicaux. Ce système (1) comprend des agents de gestion de réseau corporel (BAN) (4) permettant de traiter des données dans des parties spécifiques d'un local fonctionnel d'un établissement médical ; un agent faisant office de noeud concentrateur BAN (7), associé à chacun des patients (10), conçu pour communiquer avec un agent de gestion BAN (4) et pour stocker des données relatives aux patients, fournies par l'intermédiaire de dispositifs médicaux de diagnostic et de contrôle par télémétrie (8) reliés à chacun des patients (10). Le système se caractérise principalement par le fait que l'agent faisant office de noeud concentrateur BAN (7) a une capacité de traitement relativement faible par rapport à l'agent de gestion BAN (4) qui l'alimente en règles de contrôle de patient permettant de contrôler l'état du patient et de déclencher des alarmes, etc. selon les besoins.
