A portable and collapsible batters protection cage device which forms a protective cage enclosure comprising a plurality of rigid vertical support members and a rectangular sheet of flexible mesh netting that is permanently connected to the vertical support members by a plurality of cylindrical pockets, the pockets being formed by the flexible mesh netting. The vertical support members incorporate an anchoring spike which is driven into a flat earth surface, each vertical member has a flange in order to regulate the depth to which each vertical member is driven.
