The portable saw is a compact easily transported saw for cutting lengths from a log, wooden beam, or one or more pieces of lumber. The saw is hitched to a towing vehicle for transportation to a location for use. When at the desired location the saw is unhitched and adjustable legs are lowered thereby stabilizing the saw in place on the ground. The saw may then be used to cut the log, or other wooden member. The portable saw comprises a frame structure, an upright rotatable saw blade, mounting means for rotatably mounting the saw blade on the frame structure, drive means mounted on the frame structure for providing rotational movement to the saw blade, a cradle for supporting the at least one log to be cut, wheels for supporting the frame structure for movement over a supporting surface, and a hitch fixed to the frame structure for connecting the frame structure to a towing vehicle.

Cette invention concerne une scie transportable d'encombrement réduit servant à débiter des grumes, des poutres et du bois d'oeuvre. La scie est attelée à un véhicule pour le transport à pied d'oeuvre. Une fois sur place, la scie est dételée et calée au sol en abaissant des stabilisateurs à longueur réglable. La scie peut alors servir à couper des grumes ou toute autre pièce de bois. Elle comporte un bâti, une lame dentée à axe horizontal, un axe horizontal, un moyen d'entraînement en rotation monté sur le bâti, une goulotte d'alimentation où déposer au moins une grume, des roues montées sur le bâti et un mécanisme d'attelage du bâti au véhicule tracteur.
