A stool for a paddler in a canoe, a gardener or religious worshipper, comprising a substantially planar base having a central portion; support means having a lower end and an upper end, the support means upstanding at its lower end from the central portion; and a forwardly inclined substantially planar seat having a middle portion joined to the upper end of the support means. The stool enables beneficial transfer of some of the weight of a person in a kneeling position from the knees to the stool.
