A portable tent comprises a closed loop resilient framework, an interconnection means, an upper shell, and a set of anchoring means. The resilient framework can be bent to form a predetermined shape. The interconnection means is fixed to the resilient framework so as to bend the closed loop resilient framework into the predetermined shape, which is a symmetrical shape that is substantially a U-shape while viewing from a first direction, and is substantially a arch-shape while viewing from a second direction that is perpendicular to the first direction. The upper shell is with its periphery fixed to the closed loop resilient framework. The set of anchoring means is used for anchoring the closed loop resilient framework to the ground. This portable tent is self-erecting and can be easily set up, and it can be easily folded into a small space for transport.
