ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A portable, hydraulically operated lifting device is disclosed. The apparatus is primarily used for lifting cars over on their side at approximately 90°. The apparatus includes a base frame with lifting arms hinged thereto and which are raised or lowered with respect to the base by way of a scissor arm arrangement which interconnects the lifting arms with a hydraulic ram or other suitable actuating apparatus.
