13 48,517 ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A nuclear reactor control rod position system wherein the control rods are connected to drive rods movable within a group of detector coils. Bilateral switches are connected to the respective coils of the detectors and a control circuit sequentially provides an enabling control signal to the various groups of bilateral switches connected to the respective detectors so that the coils of each detector in turn are connected to a single signal processing circuit which may be located inside or outside the containment structure of the reactor.
