ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A positioning controller realized at reduced cost and capable of preventing oscillation of the controlled object with improved reliability. A sampler having a sampling frequency coinciding with a peak frequency of a controlled object and a zeroth order hold device for forming a control signal based on a discrete signal from the sampler are provided in a controller, and a control system including the controlled object and the controller is formed as a zeroth order hold type discrete time system. The gain level of the control signal is reduced at the peak frequency to cancel out the gain level of the controlled object at the peak frequency.
