The invention relates to a method of positioning a radio-navigation signal receiver, comprising the following steps, namely: a step consisting in predicting, for a plurality of terrestrial positions and time values, the reception characteristics of signals transmitted by radio-navigation signal sources, as a function of the positions of said sources, electromagnetic wave propagation models and topographic knowledge of the environment of each position; a step in which the receiver receives radio-navigation signals; a step consisting in measuring the reception characteristics of the signals received by the receiver; and a step consisting in processing the real measured characteristics and the predicted characteristics in order to supply receiver positioning information.
Le procédé de positionnement d'un récepteur de signaux 5 de radionavigation comporte : - une étape de prédiction, pour une pluralité de positions terrestres et valeurs temporelles de caractéristiques de réception de signaux émis par des sources de signaux de radionavigation, en fonction des 10 positions desdites sources, de modèles de propagation d'ondes électromagnétiques et de connaissances topographiques de l'environnement de chaque dite position ; - une étape de réception, par ledit récepteur, de 15 signaux de radionavigation ; - une étape de mesure de caractéristiques de réception des signaux reçus par ledit récepteur et - une étape de traitement des caractéristiques réelles mesurées et des caractéristiques prédites pour 20 fournir une information de positionnement dudit récepteur.
