ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A furnace control means is provided for reducing heat losses in the chimney stack to a minimum. The flow of air through the furnace and the flue pipe is controlled by a means to interrupt the flow of air during the period when the burner is not in operation. The control means closes the flue pipe damper or the air valve in the primary air duct to the combustion chamber and includes a variable "purging" delay to and the closing of the damper, or valve in the primary air duct from the stopping of the burner.
