ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE There is disclosed a cartridge for a valve, including a valve disc component and a cartridge component, which components are made of different materials having differing expansion or contraction properties, and which components have a positive connection between them provided by at least one projection formed on one of the components and at least one corresponding recess formed in the other of the components. Contacting side faces of the or each projection and recess are aligned with planes intersecting a common point or axis and wherein there is a clearance between the end face of the or each projection and its recess, whereby differential expansion or contraction is accommodated by relative movement of the contacting side faces only along those planes so that those faces remain in contact thereby to maintain the positive connection between the components.
