POSITIVE ORIENTATION STUD FOR AN AIRBAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A positive orientation stud is provided which extends from one end of an inflator chamber having a plurality of exhaust ports therein. The stud is adapted to fit into a generally rectangular slot in a module reaction can which contains an inflatable airbag cushion. The complementary shape of the stud of the inflator and slot of the reaction can permit mating only when the chamber is in correct rotational orientation relative to the reaction can housing. The stud also includes a raised interface key at the location where the stud meets the chamber wall for holding the mating parts in correct rotational and axial orientation relative to one another.
